Dear Participants of the DRR Conference, 2015 in Warsaw,

Thank you for your interest in the DRR 2015 conference! We are very glad to welcome you soon in Warsaw.

The final version of agenda will be available on the beginning of October and you will be informed about it via e-mail. From now on only minor changes in the programme are possible.

The printed version of the agenda will be provided together with the conference materials and will include only those contributions for which at least one author/co-author purchased the registration fee, according to the conference regulations (http://www.drr.uw.edu.pl/wordpress/?page_id=435 )
Your name and affiliation will appear on the official list of participants and with your abstract in printed materials of the conference.
The registration will be open on Thursday 15th October from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. All the speakers are kindly asked to hand on their Power Point and/or poster presentations to the conference service as soon as they check-in.

 

We invite all the participants to vote in the poll, which will support the selection of the best poster.

 

PLEASE NOTE

ORAL PRESENTATION:
The language of slides: English (or Polish with English elements, please)
Only Power Point presentation format will be accepted (or jpg.), pdf.,  MP4 (16:9), full HD (1080p).
Speech language: English or Polish (simultaneous translation will be available for all the speakers)
Time: Orals presentations should not be longer than 15 minutes

POSTER
Please give your printed poster during check-in in the morning (8:00 am – 9:00 am). Poster session is scheduled on Thursday, 15th October, 12:00-12:30.
Poster presentations are expected to be staffed by a representative to discuss the presentation and answer questions on Thursday and Friday (programme).

HOW TO GET
If you come by taxi enter from Zieleniecka Street (ul. Zieleniecka using gate 1).
If you come by tram or bus enter from G. Washington Rondo (Rondo Waszyngtona using gate 2).
If you come by car and want to park in the conference centre you need to provide us your name and car number in advance. After, use gate 6 to enter the parking.
Metro: National Stadium Station enter from Zieleniecka Street (ul. Zieleniecka using gate 1)

Initiale programme

The following issues will be covered during the conference:

1. Extreme phenomena in the changing environment.

2. Natural disaster risk management.

3. Social and economic aspects of natural disasters.

4. Reduction of the effects of natural disasters in local and regional solutions.

5. Role of the state and civic responsibility.

A natural disaster is a phenomenon caused by a natural hazard.

Conference Session by POLCITCLIM Project: Organising for resilience – local government strategies towards climate changes.

International Workshop by STAR-FLOOD Project: Flood risk management in Europe.

The programme of the conference will be announced in July of 2015.
